Hello, I am building a 1974/79 f-250 2wd,(sorry to disapoint all those 4X4 guys) the rear end is an open diff. I live in the north east so my concern is about using a locker in the winter will it throw me all over the place when i try to go around corners?
Get an OX locker it is cable activated so it won't have as many gremlins as the other
selectable lockers. Just keep the cable lubed and your good to go, You won't have to
worry about mounting and keeping a aircompressor clean or the wires to the e locker
getting corroded or mangled. If you let your wife drive the truck it's not a good idea
to run an auto locker unless you take her out and show her what to expect when they
activate and what to do. You should be able to handle the auto locker but IMHO a
selectable is the way to go that way when it is engaged it is staying engaged until
you disengage it Which is more important on a 2wd then a 4wd!!
