That depends on what axle you want, a D44 or D60, and if your doing the work yourself which i'l assume you are.
the Dana 44 (which is what you have the TTB version of) is a straight through swap and a complete axle complete w/hubs and breaks can be found in the 150-400 dollar range. Id start looking for one from a 1977-79 F150 or bronco that is being parted out.
Swapping to a Dana 60 is a whole nother ballgame because either the axle must be converted to coilover springs (they have kits) or your truck must be converted to leaves, not to mention with a stock 8.8 rear end and a swapped D60 you have 5 lugs rear, 8 lugs front. a Dana 60 can be found for 800-1200 dollars complete but are getting harder thanks to all the GM and jeep guys taking ford axles.

Its not too difficult, mainly time consuming. It can get expensive depending on your source for parts. Most people go with a dana 44 out of a 78-79. Theres some pics in my gallery of the SAS (straight axle swap) I did on my 94 F150. The ttb on that is the same as your Bronco. Also look for SAS in the offroad forum. Theres alot of good info there.

As soon as I finish my Ranger project, I am doing a FSB SAS and I am going to need the experts at FTE to help my through it.
I while ago I drove a 78 F150 4x4 and the steering/contol on that truck was way better than my 88 F150 - I have had several TIBs and TTBs since that time, but I can't wait to drive a truck with a solid front end. (I guess I could by a new 4x4 SD, but where's the fun in that) No I won't buy a Dodge or a Jeep either.

I am glad I found a freebie here. The shipping companies wanted $900.00+ to ship the palleted 400+ pound D44 here.

What did you have to do with the front sway bar? Also what if you have dual front shocks? Do you have to find a straight 44 with the dual shock mount already there? Also What about the radius arms?

I extended the links on my swaybar. The dual shockmounts were already on the radius arms that were on the axle I used. They were from a 78-79 Bronco/F150.

The Sway bar on my bronco is different from the ones in your picture. Did you take even the radius arms from the 78-79?

Yes. The radius arms are from 78-79 as is the sway bar. Sorry for the confusion.

Edit: lol. Thanks!
