A semi backed his trailer into mine when it was about a month old, creased the front fender, and scratched all the way to the back of the door...I told the guy not to worry about it, I'd be putting more on it sooner or later...
Thanks for the support guys. I'm really glad I had the police write up the crash report. I stopped by the body shop and got an estimit:$435.95 I can see a dent where the guy hit me and so can the body shop owner. I didn't even have to point it out to him. The claim is already filed at his insurance.
There was no way I was ever thinking about letting the guy who hit me try to repair the paint/dent.
I agree with everything that was said here except I would probably be sent to "da Big House" for what I would have done to this fool. Before I retired from my second career @ FEDUP, I used to think people actually "aimed" at me. "What part of this BIG WHITE TRUCK WITH HUGE ORANGE AND PURPLE LETTERS DIDN'T" YOU SEE was all I could say.
My F150 is two years old with zero defects. Hope I'm as lucky with my new SD.
The body shop computer system can't handle the 2008 super duty yet. The softwere company sends out a update every month but 2008 super duty is not included yet. He had to process it as an 2007.
i dont care how small the damage is. i would get it professionally fixed either way. i love my truck and take very good care of it. it is not that guys decision weather or not you report it or not. and i doubt he actually works at a body shop. he probably was going to use rustolum and spackle to fix your truck
