over heating?

a friend has a 04 psd. it overheated and ford fixed it, new head gaskets, exactly what else i dont know. a few weeks later the same thing happened. at the dealer the second time they had a recall on the gaskets so they put new gaskets again and possibly new heads. he gets it back this week and the over flow bottle is always low. he puts in fluid everyday to drive 80 miles round trip to work. dried antifreeze in the area near the overflow bottle. temperture is in normal position. before it over heated the first time it got wrecked and a body shop put in a new radiator. is it possible they could have put in the wrong rad.? i read another post where other people were having problems with this also, wrong markings on overflow bottle. he is just going to leave the level where it is now and see if it overheats or looses more coolant. is it possible to put in a radiator with too few cores? i would think on a diesel engine you wouldnt get the choice of a 2 or 3 or4 core radiator. any thoughts or suggestions would be great . thank you.

i guess what i'm trying to say is that these problems didnt start untill it got the front end damaged and a new radiator was installed by a body shop.
