387 cid?

has anyone here ever taken a 352 block bored it .030 and used a 390 crank. i'm getting 387 cid. not quite a 390 and i dont have to worry about the block being too thin with only a .030 bore and not the full .050 to make a 390 out of it. what do you think guys is it worth the trouble or do i just buy a 390 block and rebuild it? ive got the 352 block already.

odds are greatly in favor that you can just punch it the .050 over without any problems. The .030 over 352 pistons may not be cut right for the swing of the crankshaft and the counterweights might hit the piston, and that would spoil your day. Plus why not just have the 390?
