Different 390 heads

I have a 390 FE and when trying to get casting numbers, i realized my heads have 2 different numbers on them, the passenger side is(C7AE-H and drivers side is C8AE-A). my question does anyone know if these are the same heads with just different numbers? its it a problem? the engine runs really nice. also the block number is C7ME-A and on the rear of the block there are 2 big numbers 28 and 352. any information on this engine would be greatly appreciated.

>the passenger side is(C7AE-H
I believe that this de-codes to: 1967 Galaxie Engine.

>and drivers side is C8AE-A)
This would be 1968 Galaxie Engine.

>block number is C7ME-A.
Block would be 1967 Mercury Engine.

Sounds kind of like the 390 that's in my truck. a "mix and match" engine. By the way, check the intake. Look for a large "S" cast behind the distributor. This would be a performance ford part. "S" = 390 GT. Same as an Edlebrock Performer. Except for the weight!!! Boy I hope this is correct. If not someone else will surly chime in.
Take care,
Lee

I personally don't think theres a problem. If it's been running fine the way it is I would continue that way.

Good luck.

My heads were decoded the same way, and it turns out the heads are 428 pieces. My engine is out of a 68 T-Bird, and the 352 on the block denotes that FE engines were all cast out of the 352 engine block
