I own a 95 f 250 with high miles 200,400 miles on it.It runs fine once it starts up but it has an intermittent starting problem. The truck turns over but takes a long time to start up Sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn't. but it will give me this problem at least once a twice a dayt.it may take 20 to 40 seconds before the truck starts up .Someone told me its the fuel filter so I put a new one on and it still does it. I also gave it a tune up new plugs wires, cap ,rotor ,PVC valve, air filter still does it...One guy told me its the ignition module going bad its the original one that was put in the truck back in 95.I called the dealer to order a module but they told me it cant be that cause the truck has spark.but the guy i know tells me it has to be the module going bad.I want to make sure thats what it is before i pay 120 bucks for one. What do you think it could be?

Check all of your grounds....where they connect to the body. Make sure they are tight
check the wires where they enter the distributor...
run the trouble codes if you can if not take it to auto zone...
try shooting some ether in in next time it does what it does...will let you know if it's fuel or spark prob...
is it spinning fast or lugging?
might try turning the igniotion on and listening for the fuel pump....to stop before you start ...it will get up to pressure and cut off....
my $.02 worth..

I think it might be fuel pressure. If the injectors leak, the fuel regulator leaks, or the check valve in the fuel pump leaks, then the pressure in the fuel system will drain down, and you have to wait for the pump to fill it back up before it will fire. If you put a fuel pressure guage on the test port, you could see if this theory is correct.
$120.00 whoa thats alot!! You should look at any parts store unless you absolutely have to have factory. I would swap out the module (for 40.00) and keep the old one as a spare if it wasn't the problem, some day it will be and having a back up for it is
a good thing. +1 on what they say too. Check the wire connectors on the ignition side for corrosion. If you have a multimeter check the coil when it doesn't want to start.
