Fog to Driving

I've traded my 04 SCrew for a new 07 Lariat SCrew.
The 07 has round, factory installed fog light in the front bumper/air dam.
Has anyone changed out the fogs for driving lights? Know of a light that fits?
I would think it should be a simple swap.

Thanks.

I have a 07 XLT with no factory fog lights in the bumper and am in the process of adding fog and driving lights to the truck. In my opinion, you should leave the factory fog lights or replace them with the Hella's Micro DE if they fit. For driving lights, Hella has a replacement grill for the 07 F150 with custom fit FF4000 lights for about $500. These are the most powerful lights in Hella's line. I think it will look great and efficent out in the dark.

I bought the Micro DE and FF1000 and planing to install the DE in the slot in the bumper right beside the license plate and the FF1000 behind the factory grill (can't afford the $500). I haven't install them so I don't have any pic to offer yet.

These are my thoughts for your FYI only.

How does the wattage compare? Any risk of burning up the wiring harness? The housing?

This has been discussed in the past, but when I went to search for it, I couldn't located the thread I was looking for...

But here it goes...From 2004-2005, we had the rectangle fog light housing. These have more air room compared to the round fog light housings found in 2006 and on. I personally put in a 55watt 9006 (single filament bulb found in headlights) in my 2005 F-150's rectangular fog light housing. Compared to the original 9140 35 watt bulb, it's a huge difference. No problems after two years. I plan on putting in a set of 3000k HIDs in there after X-Mas.
