I have an old 4-bbl carb from a '67 390. I'm trying to find out the CFM. C5AF F is stamped on the carb body. Can someone help with either the CFM or a place I can search? Thanks!
The thing that we need to know is what the veturi size is. on the driver side of the main fuel bowl(front at the accell pump) there is a circular cast symble with a number. it should say 1.08 or 1.12 are the two most common sizes. The 4100 autolite carbs never were very big in terms of CFM (600 CFM max I think) from the factory. The C5AF-F simply means it origanaly was assigned to a Galaxie when Ford engineered the Carb and assigned the Part #. This does not mean it origanaly came on a Galaxie. Good luck.

U R right, it came off my '67 Gal500(wish I still had the whole car/not just the carb). The symbol: 1:12
I can't find any manf name on the thing anywhere.
I had the idea of maybe using this carb with a 4-bbl manifold installed on my 300-6, but it's probably too big, so I'm wondering if the carb has any value/use..... Thanks!

You have an Autolite 4100 4V carb. Very simple and reliable if the throttle shaft hasn't worn out the hole in the base from too many years of use. The 1:12 size is the largest 4V Autolite made to my knowledge. 2V were made bigger (I've seen 1:26)but that's as big as the 4V got. The CFM is about (I can't find my notes for exact #'s) 600CFM. The 300 straight six may be ok with the 4100 you have but you may want to go with one with 1:08 markings. It flows about 490 CFM. Are you going to use the Clifford manifold? As for value the Carb is worth something to whoever wants to restore any Ford, car or truck. It is a good carb. If you don't want to use it then please don't junk it. Find a good home for it (hint,hint...me)
Good luck.
