I bought a used 360 out of a 76 pickup to replace the dying 360 in my 69 F100. The 76 engine has 352 cast into the left front of the block. Does that mean it's a 352 and not a 360? Thanks

Welcome to FTE
Nope, Ford cast 352 into the blocks beginning in the 1960's, as the 352 block is the basis for all the FE 352/360/390/410 and 428 engines.

The block code should state the model year; near the starter side should read something like (D6TEXXX) etc; it will determine the year by the first two digits.
I believe a 352 block would be only thru 67 models and 360's & 390's would be from 68 or newer.
I'm sure I'm off the production years but; the block code will determine the year.

Mitch, you're spot on.
F Series:
352 = 1965/67
360/390 = 1968/76
