Guage mounting options

Hello all,

1st off I have a 2007 F150 FX4.

I am wanting to mount three gauges (fuel pressure, boost pressure, and transmission temp). Where is everyone mounting these? Some pics or links would be great. Also, who sells the nicest looking gauges.

Thanks,
Greg

4 options for this truck:

Propods (Proparts.com) - 2 and 3 gauge pillars. Replaces the entire factory driver's side pillar. Its what I'm using. Very easy install (1 bolt).

Autometer - 2 gauge mount that fits over the existing pillar. I had this and it was a PIA to mount. Had to drill holes in the existing pillar (and hope you line it up perfectly).

There's a company that has a 2 guage mount that goes where the ashtray is. I wouldn't use this as a primary location because its not easy to see. I don't remember the company name... you'd have to search on Google for it.

Center dash tray. You can get a gauge mount from Ford. It only holds two gauges. It is the mount used in the 2007 Harley-Davidson F150 with a the blower.

Can't say who sells the nicest looking, that's a matter of taste and opinion.

Proparts.com seems to be having some trouble with their server or something. Thanks for the direction, I don't want to drill anything, want them out of the way and easy to see.

Thanks,
Greg

I found them on Jegs, just ordered them. I also ordered, found on Ebay all three guages I wanted. I saw these in a buddies GSX and fell in love with them. They are the B&M Black Out LED gauges, boost, trans temp, and fuel pressure. I will look for widebands next month as I am sure I will run one, I just feel so much safer when I have one monitoring all the time. We uses on for tuning, but I might as well put on in the truck permanently.

Thanks again for your direction Ken.

You're welcome Greg.

I also suggest you consider a digital accelerometer gauge. I use one from Auto Meter. Tells me 0-60, 1/8th, 1/14th, slip time, 60-0, turning Gs, etc.

FTE Ken,
I have a 2001 F250 and accidently ordered the gauges for a f150, I need to know if they will fit. My truck or if I will need to return it. I figured since you have both trucks if you could take a look at it for me.

Gauges are pretty much universal, except for the units like the Edge tuner, etc. Gauge mounts, however, are not. F150 gauge pods will not fit an F250 and visa versa. Even if I didn't have both, I'd know this because I used to be in the business. Unless two vehicles share the same windshield and a-pillar, the gauge pods won't interchange. The upside, at least, is that I have found the classifieds here to have very high quality buyers, and things sell pretty fast and posting ads costs nothing. Price it right and it will move. Naturally, find out if the retailer will allow an exchange before trying this.
