I have a 04 f350 with 6.0 and the coolant tank is burping coolant. At first I thought the cap was bad so I replaced it. It is still burping the coolant. I can fill it up and within a day it is empty. The idiot gauge still shows normal temp but I can hear the fan locking up as if the engine is getting overheated. My next step is to replace the coolant tank, " thinking the seal is bad " or does anyone think that I might have internal problems causing my pressure to really be up. Truck has 58000 and does a lot of mod to heavy hauling. Engine sounds good, trany shifting good and gauge showing same temp it always has. any ideas guys? I have two 04 F350's and don't want my wife hauling with mine, so I need to fix hers. Truck has airraid, turbo back and predator on 45 HP only, no other engine upgrades.

Gauge will show normal until just before it melts, glorified idiot light. You either have a leaking EGR cooler or bad Headgaskets. Both will cause this problem. FYI Predator's are known to eat 6.0 headgaskets for lunch and trash Torqushift transmissions.
Tech will have to pressure test the cooling system and do a cylinder leak down test to determine if it is a bad EGR cooler or bad Headgaskets.
BTW it would be a good idea to install aftermarket EGT, Trans Temp, Coolant Temp, Boost Gauge and Fuel pressure gauge, especially since you tow and are modded.

black hat is correct. sounds to me like you finally compromised your head gaskets, or the egr cooler. mine just puked for the first time a few days ago and i run it HARD so i'm actually suprised it took this long ! ! !

Mine just puked for the first time the other day also, it did it on the street but didn't do it during my 3 runs at the strip...weird...
