Just Purchased 03 Excursion

I've been an OBS guy for a couple of years, but just got my wife an 03 7.3. I think I did well 16,500 it is a limited 4wd in great condition. It currently has a banks six gun tuner, with the banks exhause system. I am assuming the six gun needs to go away and be replaced by a Tony Wildman or DP tuner chip? Any thing else I should know or think about doing right away?

I just put a dp tuner chip in my inlaws 00 excursion, you may remember the 3 day long conversation, the mileage went from 15.5 to 19 and all we did was add the chip, one position 80 hp econo, that is why I am going to pull the six gun and throw a chip in asap

Exhaust, Intake, gauges, and then definitely a DP tuner. I'd also recommend an improved valve body when you do the chip (BTS is what i have and love it).

Also, look into CCV mod, ITP intank mods.

Yeah DP has treated me well so that is where I will get my chip I am familiar with the CCV mod from my truck, but what is the ITP intank mod??

great starter mod, i think. Provides better filtration and reduces/eliminates air in the diesel, smoother running engine, increased life of injectors.
Some have made their own kits, but for the price it was easier for me to just buy this one. I also added a carter lift pump to aid the factory fuel pump

Yeah that happened to my inlaws too, mileage dropped there for a bit because of hot rodding and they are in their 60's, but man they were having fun!!
