tranny fluid
I tried to change my fluid by dropping the pan(because ther is no drainplug) but I was only able to get about 4 quarts outof it. I took the torque converter cover off to access the plug but there is none, so hhow do I completely drain the tranny?? e40d 92 f150 4x4.
And also ford says to put mercon5 in it, but I heard mercon 5 is not good for these tranny's,and merconIII is becoming obsolete so what fluid do I use?

MERCON V is the correct fluid for that trans. Ford changed MERCON V a while ago and made it compatible with the older trans.
If you don't trust that there are some brands that are selling the MERCON fluid labeled as fluid for those transmissions that used MERCON.
