Super Duty vs Highboy!! :)

Looking to the future I have a set of wheels from my old '03 F-250 that are 8 lug. Will they fit my soon to be '75 F-250?

If not, and since I dont need the wheels, would it be feasable to dremel or otherwise "modify" the bolt pattern?

it's not just the bolt pattern that is wrong (although it is wrong also and won't fit that way) but the superduty uses hub piloted or centered wheels but the highboy uses the lugs to center or pilot the wheel so different hub/rim mounting totally

I belive all the ford 8-bolt rims up to 1996 would fit your highboy. and some 1997's, I've heard.
After that they changed to the new style, which as mentioned, can't be modified to work.

They can work, but it'll cost $100 or so. A good rim shop can re-drill and sleeve them. They put conical steel inserts that use tapered lug nuts. Shop around here does it for $25 per wheel plus tax...

Chase;
Great info as always. You actually were the one that taught me about this process.
Question though. Will this work on a cast wheel too, or is it limited to forged wheels only? Obviously is limite to aluminum, as this would not be possible with steel wheels.
Pretty sure I know the answer, but I thought it would be good to post anyway. This question is asked a bunch, and I believe this will pop up in a "search" quite often.

I'm not sure on the cast wheels - that is a good question. I guess it all depends on the quality of the casting and the intended use of the wheel. If the truck will stay on the street then I think it would be fine.

As for the steel wheels - I think they turn them a bit and dil 8 new holes between the original (metric) 8. Not sure though as I have never tried it.

If it's a dually it may work. If it's a standard 8 lug then they won't work - unless you re-drill them.

You can use the 8-lug wheels off an econoline van. The vans still use the old 8-lug pattern. I'm not sure about the back spacing though...............
