slave cylnder install?

there has to be a easyer way... whats the trick? i had to replace mine becouse it was leakin so i got it apart had to fight it got it off the mount. got the new one back on the mount and tryed to put ti back on the tranny.. it seems like the shaft is just to freakin long.. comparted the old one to the new one and they are the same.. i dont wanna break it and thats what i feel like im goin to do.. might try to mount the braket and then try and wedge it in any help would be great

Like it says in the instructions, the plastic socket is integral to proper operation.

Once it's on just push the fork arm back and the straps will release from the slots in the clip.
