Leaf spring swap

Does any one know if rear springs off of a 1977 f-250 will fit a 1980 f-250?

I think they will they are both 3inch wide spring as far as I know.

I would say no, they will not interchange. What do I base this on? I looked up a rear 77 leaf spring in the LMC truck catalog, and all the different flavors of springs have different part numbers from the springs I looked up in the 80-up LMC truck catalog. Not conclusive, but these days it's all about inventory levels and keeping that down to a minimum. So I do not think they would give the same spring two different part numbers and stock the same spring in two different shelves of the warehouse.

I know that there is a difference in frame rail widths, but that shouldn't affect the spring interchangeability. Let us know if you try this swap.

Check the width (should be 3"), the length eye to eye, and measure the centering pin location.

And, don't forget the hanger bolt diameter.

That should tell you if they will work.
