tranny/electric?
It stopped shifting and began slipping all of a sudden the other day. It goes in reverse fine .
If I manually put it in drive, nothing happens, and 2nd the same and if I put it in 1st then hit the gas, it feels/sounds like the break is on (like the engine rpms decrease rather quickly.
I replaced the TPS,EVP,Engine Temp,MAP, and VSS on the differential, No difference
I pulled the codes with my little black and yellow Ford Code Reader and got these codes...116,,,311....538,,,,632....no codes for the transmission.
I know ALL the sensors have to be working in order for the transmission to shift correctly.
I pulled the pcm out and opened it up,and I notice on all three barrel like capacitors are kinda rusty around the solder points, but I dont know if that has anything to do with it or not, because I dont know what part of the PCM controls the tranny, and I also checked all the fuses.
Can some please enlighten me!!!
alright i have a friend that was having tranny poblems. he said he would push the gas and the truck would roll slowly like its in 4th gear. he took it to a amco place and they said its the tranny. well he orders a rebuilt tranny for a 97 4.2 f150. well here it starts... the guy asked him if it was a white plug or a black plug. he tells him its a white one. he sends a black one. we didnt notice untile its up there. we called him up and told him he sent the wrong tranny. he told us its ok we could just swap put the wire harness for the tranny (inside) so we do and it gets cut during the process we heat shrinked it. the plugs wouldnt fit so we soldered the plugs in. well after we were done we put the truck into drive and the truck wouldnt move until you reved it up alot but it moved like ten feet. (felt like it was stuck in 4th gear). well later put it in drive and you can hear the engine get strain on it like its in drive but you hit the gas and go nowhere. did it through all the gears and nothing. is there something we missed. also there was a bracket thing that had a rubber hose at the end and a hard line on the other that looked like it was broken off but it came off near the dipstick and wew didnt know where it came from but we didnt put it back thinking it was extra. dont think its anything but it could be something.
