Unhappy Need help with TPS adjust

07 5.4 stumbles/ surges and farts out...

Been looking at this TPS all day and trying to find info out there on how to adjust it. I found some info about adjusting the voltage between a green and red wire or - and return sig.

Sounds easy BUT mine has 4 wires -a pink, a grey, and 2 yellow/ white trace.

I took the voltage between the pink and grey and got 4.1 volts. I assumed this was the ref. I then read from grey to each yellow. one yello had 0 and the other had .1

Am I looking at the TPS? Its the only one right on the throttle body with security screws -right?

I don't know how this got into the 09 forum. Could a mod move this to the 04-08?

Are you getting any Check engine lights with this?

(One of the '09 Forum Mods should be around shortly to move this..)

On edit: I'm curious....this TPS adjustment, is this something a dealer told you to try?

no, no engine lights. Unfortunately I can't rely on my particular dealer. Just my own research -I have set TPS on other vehicles...

The 5.4l 3v Doesn't Have A Tps Like The Older Stuff. The Tps Is Also The Iac, And The Throttle Control. Adjusting The Voltage Might Not Be A Good Thing.

It must still be under warranty why not just have the dealer fix it, it is not to hard to really screw up these new rigs???

The idle stumble/stalling is a common problem with the 5.4L's. Mine did the same thing. I know you hate your dealer, but try to find another one, because it does need repair. They will probably reflash the PCM, and possibly replace the throttle body with a new one. They did this to my 2004 5.4L because I had the same problem...and it 100% solved it. Hope this helps.

Dropping crud into my intake....

I can flash my own PCM right? If I throw on a super charger it voids all that intake crap right?

No, you cannot flash your own PCM unless you "know" someone at a Ford dealer willing to do it for you on the side. The software update must be downloaded from Ford, and only they can flash it.

And yes, adding a blower can void your warranty UNLESS (this is my understanding)....you buy the Ford blower...AND have it installed by a Ford dealer....then I THINK you can retain your 3/36k warranty. Might wanna check on that tho. If anyone knows, please chime in.

Your towing cap. will drop getting a SC. Also, a Roush SC still retains the 3/36k warranty.

I just had a new computer installed in my Jeep, and the garage mech flashed it. He's not a dealer, just a garage. I think those little boxes to do it are over a grand.
