Heater / Air conditioner problem and update
Has anyone else had a problem with the heat/ac switch on their 99 F150? Last summer, the rotary dash switch seemed to move with a lack of resistance, (rather "flopped" over rather than offered resistance when turning); When I changed over from heat to air, and the ac would not work. It continued to blow hot. I checked the freon amount at the compressor and it was fine. Thinking that the switch may have broke, I changed out the switch with a new one, and the problem reversed it self. The ac worked great, but now it would not work in the heat mode. Blew cold regardless of the switches position. I kept the first switch and since its now October, have put it back on.
Also, btw, that C1096 problem last spring has become intermittent now, but still exists. Each time I think I've got it licked, it returns after a short period.
