well i found my efficentcy problem
after playign with my truck trying to find out why it was using fuel like no tomamrow , as i took the truck apart to replace the bad waterpump, i take my intake hoses off and they crumble ! crap ! the corners at the throttle body were totally rotted out. so $200 later i now have the k&n intake setup, its cool and sounds much better! justin

I wouldn't think that would have any affect on using fuel. A hole on the side entering the throttle body doesn't affect it afterwards like that. If this is the '96 with the 5.8 in it, it has speed density, so no confusion on MAF readings. If those lines rotted, check your vacuum lines and see if any of them are the same.
