Gears??
Sorry to cross-post, but I got nothing in the other department.
I have to buy all new parts for my 5.0 88' bronco w/ the 8.8 3:55. Can any one suggest good parts and price? I am turning 33'' tires and I think I want to go to 3:73 or even 3
0, any suggestions???? Also, I don't know if it is 31 spline. Can anyone help with that? All help is welcome, please...
I found a store on ebay called Brenspeed. Has anyone used them? They have a kit for $199.99. It includes the mst. install kit, R&P gear, and axle bearing kit.
I believe it is kit by motive.

I am running 3.73:1 on my bronco it gets pretty good mileage on the road and does good off road too. I can do quite abit in 2wd and 4 hi, If the sand gets pretty deep or
mud is sticky then 4lo comes into play but that's why you got it!!
I turn about 1500 rpm at 55mph running a true 33"tire, measure some aren't exactly what the sidewall says like 2x4s With 33" tires you don't need anything in the 4. range unless you like losing top end speed or revving the **** out of your motor. Running a trans temp gauge would be money well spent $50.00 for the digital one at jcwhitney, It has a fast response time so you can make changes in how your driving,
drop a gear, change t case ranges, take a break etc. $50.00 versus a $500.00 trans repair(low ball) Also bigger tires are a special operating condition so change the fluid

Depending on how much you use it on the road(or don't), then 4.10s might be a better solution.
I don't feel 3.55 to 3.73 is worth the money...
Do you plan to install the gears yourself?
Also, you do know you need to do the front axle at the same time right?
You are right, the 8.8 has 31 splines axle shafts.
While your in there, now would be the best time to add a locker of some sort.
