Been looking at used Titan 5.5 hp air compressor but seems some of the Tool supply outlets no longer carry them. Wonder if any member is familiar with the brand, suspect when supplier's no longer carry them, parts may be hard to come by.
It seems that most all of the smaller compressors such as this are made by only a few suppliers like Campbell Hausfeld and Ingersoll Rand, etc. Getting parts should not be a problem, but if it is in good, running order and you take care of it, you will probably never need any parts except a belt or something that is generic and can be bought anywhere.
A 5HP compressor costs at least $800 these days, so if it is in good shape and you can get it for $400 or less, I would get it before it's gone.
Appreciate the info., may be able to pick up for under $300 but starting to have second thoughts, can't seem to find anybody who carries them, or who manufactures them. Thanks again.
Again, it is almost certain that the compressor is a Campbell Hausfeld, or other common manufacturer with a different brand label. If it's in good shape, this is a bargain. Have you googled Titan?
If this compressor weren't 1500 miles away from me, I would buy it if you don't want it.
Apparently, relatively small run company, simular to Eaton, and other small manufacturers where either they limit the number of distributors; and or, ship from their plant to cut overhead. They also import the compressor cases but suspect if the product does not meet their spec's and quality control then they would not be around very long and likely more incentive to provide better customer service. Anyhow, appreciate the info, don't have any reservations so will see if able to close the deal tomorrow.
