Exhaust backfire

I had an exhaust backfire under acceleration, and when I adjusted the timing, I created a carb backfire. So I am going to drop the timing back, but how do I fix the exhaust backfire.

Exhaust backfire

check for vacuum leaks around the carb base. check your power valve also. backfires thru the exhaust are generally fuel system related. thru the carb are ignition system related. also check for exhaust leaks.
