Ok, I was piddling around today with my stereo system. Took the dash off like I have 100 times. Replaced my RCA cables and put it all back together.
Now usually after unplugging my AC plugs, the EXT TEMP starts from 50f and works its way up slowly. It is holding steady on 50f now, my speedometer is holding at zero, my tach is showing idle at 200rpm (it still works, just like 450rpm short) my fuel gauge was VERY slow to rise after fill up(it usually does it fast) and to top it all off... my dam truck has no power.
Whenever I start my truck, back out of the driveway, and floor it, it has all the power it normally has, but after say... 5 seconds it goes away. It probably climbs 5mph in 10 seconds after that. At around 50mph ususally, when I punch it, it will drop two gears and haul ***. Now it only drops one and sees like its limping along.
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON???
The truck is a 2007 PSD CC F-250 Lariat. Completely stock. 49,876 miles. I'm at the mileage now where my oil and fuel filters need to be changed if that helps any.

Check and make sure all the plug connectors to the instrument cluster are fully seated and tight. If they are loose and the PCM cannot communicate with the instrument cluster, it will cause the problems you are describing.
Everything seems tight and in place. I'm about to change the fuel filters and maybe that will cure the no power problem. Any other suggestions? I'll go over all the plugs again because that does sound like it could be the problem. Thanks for the reply.
I also don't believe in coincidences. if it was not happening before then it was something you did to cause it. ie lack of power . but if the lack of power was happening before the dash thing, then it could be two seperate things. obviously. in that case snoopy might have nailed it.

Check all the connection carefully, and also check all master plug connections at the back of the fuse panel. The PCM and Instrument cluster must communicate in a two-way direction, if the PCM does not receive the proper information back from the instrument cluster, it can cause the PCM to command the engine to run in a preset configuration which will cause power loss and perfromance issues.
If all the connections are tight, you may have a bad instrument cluster. They are known to fail from time to time.
Well I re-checked the plugs, checked some fuses in the fuse box, changed both fuel filters. Ran the truck... still has no power on top end. Where are the main plugs located. Maybe I can giggle them some This is really frustrating. Thanks for the help guys. It sounds like the only thing it can be really is a faulty connection. I guess I'll take the dash off and start from there. Thanks again.
I agree with Raptor131, you either moved, kinked, unplugged,or shorted something, while working on your stereo.Start all over, have an open mind c/o what might be the problem, take your time, make sure you have good lighting, and then backtrack everything you touched or moved when you "piddled" with the stereo. Don't forget to check all ground straps in that area.Good luck!
Thanks a ton guys. It turned out to be a loose connection. I have no idea which plug but I whiggled all of em' and then took it for a spin. Speedo works, and it has its power back. Thanks for all the help. I love my truck again
