Time for new batteries

Starting to turn over a lot slower in the cooler temps, batteries are at least 3 years old so its probably time to replace them. Anything special I need over and above what I'd do for a gasser as far as replacement? The one in it now are motorcrafts and seem like they held up well, any other brands that are comparable htat don't cost an arm and a leg? I'd imagine going to the dealership for motorcrafts is going to expensive.

motorcraft 850's are 79.95 each, if you have a nice dealer they will cut you a small break since you are buying 2. there is virtually no mark-up on batteries to try to keep them competative. if they want more then 79.95 they are a....... well i'll just call it a not-so-nice-dealer

A lot of people don't like Autozone....but for Batteries they are my first choice. The 65-DLG is $75 has 850 cca (1000 ca) and an 8 year warranty, of which the first three years is free replacement.

I second Autozone, their gold series batteries are rated amoung the highest by Consumer Reports. I always buy the biggest battery (that will fit) with the most Cold Cranking Amps. Remember the bigger the battery, the more plates that it has and the more surface area on the plates = longer life & more power. Just my .02
