hi bul48.
had the same problem. needed new injector cap kit, fuel check valve at filter.
replaced and runs great now.
here is where i got the info to change it .
Charles has a great page and he replies to his emails quickly..
Jon is right, first get a return line kit for the injectors. That includes new caps, fuel line, O rings, and clamps. I did that just the other week. (It fixed my problem 10 years ago when it happened...) For me, it did not take care of the problem, but I think there is a one way valve in the fuel filter where the return line also goes to, and that may be bad. I cut the line going to it and plugged it up. So far OK, but it has not sat still for a week to be certain. At any rate, if it starts right up, then quits, you have a fuel starvation problem.
My glow plugs are new and work fine The problem is the first start of the day it starts for 10 seconds races alittle then shuts off and will not start again Thought maybe something in the pump?

start small, do the return kit first..replace the fuel return check valve at the filter..then go from there. but do yourself a favor and check out the page..lots of good free info. he is a ford certified tech.
