Motor Mounts
I am new here so hello again I had my 66 for over 3 years now did a lot of body work on the inside (make it solid before pretty) Well I rebuilt the 302 that was in it it now runs smooth no oil burning but a week after I put it on the road the motor mount whent it didnt break just bent it. I used an of the shelf motormount Part#602329 from AP. I guess that I have a lead foot but it runs so sweet anyway does anyone knows of an aftermarket mount that would handle my driving style
You might be able to get a heavy duty motor mount if the mount is common for something like a Mustang. You say you have a 302, so the engine is common to Mustangs and the mount location on the block has not changed for many years. You could try Energy Suspension, Prothane, or some similar manufacturer of polyurethane parts.
The other solution is known as a torque strap. It amounts to a strap or chain bolted to the drivers side head and then the frame. You leave a little bit of slack in it for normal driving and then when getting exuberant
the engine movement will be enough to cause the strap to tighten and stop engine rotation, thus preventing the broken or bent motor mounts.Either method works, I use a turnbuckle for a torque strap in my '66, there are NO heavy duty mounts available for the FE.

I'm sure someone will chime in and Let you know what to get for your Promblem.
