new air-shocks

What do new air shocks for the front of a 99 expidition cost? I think mine are bad. "Front sets to low." Where do you buy them at besides the dealership?

Shock warehouse is where I bought mine. You only have one model for the front and that is made by Monroe.

Do you remember how much they cost? Are they hard to install?

I wnt to say they were around $75.00 each. The only hard part is compressing them to get them out and in. Other than that they are pretty straight forward.

+1 on working a bit to get them in....

Push and hold in the hose fitting on the shock and then pull out the air line. Also turn off the air suspension switch under the pass. side foot area, before doing work.

Is there any trick to installing them or gettin the old ones out? I just bought this vehicle it has 125k on the odometer. Maybe I should stay away from air-ride and go to springs.

You can do this, just have to be patient. They can be a PIA to get out and install. As mentioned, compressing them is the hard part. As I recall, bolt it in loosely on the lower control arm, then use a large screw driver as a lever to compress the shock while letting it "slide" into the upper pocket.

Not that bad to do

Just replaced my front air shocks on my 00 nav today, the only trick was gettting them in place, other than that, pretty easy to do.
