92 on a 85
I just got a rusted out 85 ford 1 ton 4x4 and a 92 1/2 ton 4x4 (cab is clean on the 92). My question is will the 92 body go right on the 85 chassis. I know the wiring is different but I can make that work, just wondering what other problems I may run into. I would just run the 1/2 ton but I need a real truck, my average empty weight is around 7000 (tools, supplies). Then I hook up the trailer.

The body should bolt right on your 85 frame. Ford didn't change frame dimensions from 1980-1996. More than a few members here have done the swap too.

IF it didn't now is the time to make some brackets an make it a body lift while your at it!! I want to put a Mack R model cab on my bronco frame, with the air ride and big hood (maybe a superliner hood!!) It would be different that's for sure!!
