White Cheddar Cheezits w/ either MGD or water. MGD if fridge is stocked, water if I've been too lazy to make a beer run.

Pistachios or Corn-Nuts. The older I get, if I eat too late, I'm up all night.

Man, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a few potato chips and a glass of milk always kills the hunger for me. Morning, noon or night.

Something with a high carb count, it makes me sleepy so I can get back to sleep.
Bowl of granola with rice milk on it is the usual.
Cannot tolorate dairy products so I had to adjust.

Dutch, you just jogged the memory!!!!!!!

Mom used to buy "Deviled Ham" and made some good sandwiches with it.
'Deviled ham', relish and a little mayo, with a slice of tomato.

Good 'sammich' for a young boy with a bottomless pit for a stomach!

I also remembered "Devil Ham" with mayo on toast when I was young.

If you have jalapenos, a blender, and some kind of meat spread SOMETHING good is going to result

I still like to dry sliced jalapenos in a smoker with a low fire, and grind the result into a shake-on sprinkle. It's awesome for dipping cheese sticks into...

It is peppery, has the full bodied SABOR of jalapenos, and a little of the vinegar and salt leftover in it. Plus the smoke flavor...

It isn't sold in stores except in a version with way too much salt added.

It should be tried at least once, for it's own sake.

If it's midnight and I'm a little hungry, I'll just down a big (16 oz or so) glass of milk. Makes me sleepy so I can get back to where I should be. Sugar and alcohol are bad for trying to get some good sleep. It's also not good to go to bed on a full stomach... I'm already too much of a night owl, so I have to watch it, or the day job suffers...

That sounds like it would taste pretty good and it would probably be something I would eat. But I don't have a smoker

Too old to be up at midnight, especially if I have to get to school in the mernin. But, twere I to have a choice of midnight/late night snacks it would be something compatable with beer.

Greywolf, I'm going to have to try those smoked jalepenyoes, ceptin I'll used freshns'. Sounds a little like chipotles to me. Low mesquite fire should do the trick...

When I was a kid we ate a lot of canned Spam at my house. I noticed it in the store a while back and thought I would enjoy some again. Man, that stuff is quite nasty. Either they changed the way it is made, or my taste has certainly changed. I would certainly not eat that again. (unless of course I had to!!)

They can be dried in an oven too - but vent the place so that it doesn't get to be a CBR environment

Think I'll give that jalapenos recipe a try.

I'll dry them in the dehydrator, and go from there.
