the last mod I did was the regulated return...I just thought of something...on sunday I rigged up a little boost leack checker...hooked it onto my intake...now could the air going in and no oil have messed up the O rings ?

Oh yeah, thats right you wanted to pump her up to 40PSI. the intake air and oil systems are seperate, so I doubt that happened.
But since you mentioned reg return, did you loosen any of the HPOP mounting bolts, when you removed the fuel bowl? If so then it may very well be the oring underneath the HPOP decompressed and shifted.
ha yea only pushed it to 30....I took out the 2 bolts that hold the fuel bowl in there....do these also hold the hpop in place?
I dont believe so, I think they are there simply to hold the bowl. but with all that close quarter work around those HPOP braided lines the leak has to be from somewhere up there.
Clean it all the way up, it will need to be done anyway. Then try to find it by cranking. Or you could start the truck and shut it down as quick as it starts. I will almost bet the farm your leak will reveal itself from a HPO source.
EDIT: Oh, I forgot to add, any leak in the engine area needs to be looked at from as far forward as possible. That fan will blow it back like nobody's business.

I checked the lines no real apparent leak there, I had it running for about 2 or 3 minutes and was under the hood looking around, found a drip into the engine valley just below the back side of the fuel bowl, is there anything hpop related back there...Im just in to put some not so nice clothes on...I'll wait a few minutes before I go leak searchin again.....thanks in advance
A drip behind the fuel bowl is not a gusher like you desribed. The HPOP resides under the fuel bowl. If that is leaking, it will be far less pronounced at idle than at running pressure which can range from 2200 to 3000 psi. Check all of the fittings and plugs to the HPOP.
it appears to be a gusher when it fills up the valey and leaks over the bellhousing...but the source itself isn't a gusher, but its fairly consistant. I put a rag under the fuel bowl and let it run for a minute and pulled the rag out...coverd in oil, I just have to trace down where its source is..how many lines come off the hpop I checked the two most obvious ones and they dont appear to be leaking...are they supposed to havea bit of play?
Theres a plug on the back of the HPOP that has a o-ring on that some times comes loose it did on mine . You may have to use a mirror and a flash light to see it with the fuel bowl on.
im pretty sure its oil. it has a bit of a fuel smell to it, but I think it might be mixing with a bit of the fuel in the valley from when I did the regulated return.....I think I know the plug your talking about...Ill get back to workin on it in the AM
