I have an '04 150 4x4 with the 4.6 auto and i get a small but noticeable vibration in the steering wheel and i can feel it in the gas pedle starting at 48-60 mph. It seems to do it more when i'm on the gas. i know vibration questions are hard but any help is appreciated.
How many miles? The first time I noticed mine, was after I rotated the tires. I rotated them back and it stopped. A few months later when it when in for inspection it needed ball joints. It had about 50,000 miles. No more vibration. Tires might just need balanced or front end alignment
If you do things yourself. I would try to rotate and see what happens. If your getting someone else to do it. Maybe you can get the dealer to rotate and check the balance for free. Like Tylus said it's not uncommon. If you do a search I'll bet you find a few threads about it.
You can pretty muck rule out the tranny. I wouldn't worry about that. I don't know what everyone else did. I only know my own situation. If you get bored, do that search on this site for vibration in the front end. In the past I've spent an hour or more at a time, just sifting thru the old threads. There is a lot of info in there.
last year i had a same situation with old and new tires.i have 04 screw fx4 with 36k on her know. they did balance the tires 2 times but didn't help.Dobbs Tire & Auto Center did road force balance on the tires and for sure one of the front tire was off since than i have no problem.
