Need advice....
Hey there, new to this forum and wanted to get a little advice. I'm looking at purchasing an 05 FX4 with about 45K miles. The transmission has recently been rebuilt. It wasn't a total rebuild, just 4 gear and overdrive. I'm a little hesitant, any advice?

yeah my first thought is why a trans, rebuild @45,000 miles if they were that hard on it to warrant a tranny build what else is messed up. like 4x4 transfer and rear. just my thought DONT WALK AWAY FROM THE DEAL RUN LIKE A M@#@$#!! just my 2 cents. unless of course your getting dirt cheap but be ready for more headaches. good luck!

Does it have an extended warranty? If not the selling price should be reduced by a good portion of the cost of a completely rebuilt transmission. IMO the transmission would be suspect and without a warranty(longer than the 1 year that should come with the recent rebuild) you could be looking at $3500-$4500 while your still making payments on the truck.
