So I plan on ordering the all chrome fender emblems for my 08 F250 CC 4x4 Lariat. My question is.... does Ford make a black plastic screen vent instead of the red one? I think they might come on the trucks with the gas engines but not sure. If not I think I am gonna try and paint them a gloss black.
The only thing I have seen is chrome inserts that actually look pretty good. I had mine painted the same color as my truck when I had the fender flares, mirrors and door handles painted.

Yes they do and you are correct. the black vent covers are for gassers. You can always just try to paint yours like you mentioned. Some people on here have done it and it turned out good.
Chilli, I was browsing some sites a few weeks ago and ran across a site that had some black side vent emblems I don't remember the adress but they do sell them, If I see it again I will post it.
Thanks guys for the help. I called the dealer this morning and they said they sell them for $80 a side including the chrome emblem. I guess the screens don't come separate. I don't really want any sort of chrome or billet insert. If you guys run accross the company that sells the factory black screens please post it here. I am even willing to trade if someone is interested.
I have a picture of the truck in my gallery. I painted them to match my truck and I had them painted by my paint guy when I had the fender flares painted. I know you have to prep them with a primer designed for plastic and/or use paint specifically designed for plastics. I wish I could tell you more but I did not paint them myself.
