Well on the trip back to Saskatoon tonight, I was annoyed by another driver. So heres the story:
I'm cruising down highway 11 doing 115 km and get passed my a red Honda Civic hatchback at Blackstrap. Up on the otherside he slows down enough that I catch up and change lanes to slowly pass him. I'm just about past him when he changes lanes right behind me, then flashes his headlights several times and then pulls back into his lane where he speeds up, passing me. Well, I figure I don't need this so I just dropped the hammer and when he was a mile behind me, I resumed by previous cruise speed for the remainder of the trip.
Now about my car. It still has the factory lightbulbs and the housings are slightly fogged so it isn't even remotely as bright as many new vehicles. Also my headlights are aimed at the correct height.
His little stunt had no effect to me since I have my mirrors adjusted properly and had the review mirror in night mode. I only can get some glare if there is a truck behind me.
I can see dimming your headlights on a single lane highway but on a double lane? And how is it my fault that he doesn't have his mirrors setup right and can't stand any glare for 1-2 min when I pass him?
nice rant...well, he isn't too bright a chap anyway, (given the civic driving thing) so we definately wouldn't want to assume that he knows how to adjust his mirrors, nor should we assume that the car even has mirrors. i hate these people with HID's that take forever to dim them when they're comming towards you. time for some HID's in the s'crew, along with 6 HID fog lights aimed in no particular direction...
You meet at least one or two of his type every day.
I had a car come up on me late one nite when I was driving semi coming up the Blackstrap hill. He didn`t dim his head lights till he was almost past me. I was tempted to hit the overhead backup lights on but didn`t. When he did go by me I seen he was a mountie.
It would have been a ticket for hitting those lights but he deserved it as he lit up the whole cab!
I have a story to tell - it involves me (very tired), my semi, an off duty RCMP, tailgate with bright lights, and a ball pean hammer --> you guys put the pieces together!!!

Hint: not good
So many ways to put this together, none of them sound too good!
Off duty or not, most of them have been pretty decent. I know afew RCMP fairly well including my next door neighbour who`s a pretty cool guy. I`m glad we`re both on the same side.
