AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok now i feel just a tad better. Well today i had my ford runnin a little bit and on the way back to my house it just cut out and it turns over smooth but doesnt try to start and smoke poors from the top of the valve cover and when ever i took off the air filter and i pushed the linkage smoke poored out of the carb so whats everyones theorys of what could have happened??? Now im not sure whats wrong with it but i think im gonna just pull the motor tear it down and start rebuilding it slowly bye slowly. When i build it i want it to have LOTS of torque. I guess i will ask about what all i should do to it once i start building it. Thanks to anyone who can help right now im kind of frustrated so thanks for reading the long post

Hard to say without more info. I'd do a compression check because I think it might be head gasket, valves, or rings. The rings would cause the smoke from the valve covers, the valve could cause smoke out the carb.
Actually, if your going to rebuild it, I'd just start tearing it apart and take the block, crank and heads to a shop and have them start checking and cleaning things.
then start doing the research on the performance parts you want. I'd tell the shop to just check the block for cracks and bore condition and check the heads for cracks then check the crank see if it needs a regrind.
Before you buy any parts, I'd strongly suggest that you talk it over with us here. I did a ton of research before selecting my parts and I'm glad I did. This is a good time to start thinking about using a 410/428 crank. they are an excellent way to get extra torque and with a few mods can be a big torque monster.
Thanks alot but its runnin now smoother than ever. There is a little white electrical piece that seems to have a wire goin from the distributor and another goin to the coil i could be wrong. It was touching against another piece of metal and causing it not to start as soon as it was moved it fired right up. All of the smoke is gone now ??? Im not sure why it was smoking but its perfect now But Thanks again
