Strange problem you are reporting. Vibration could be several of things: unbalanced driveshaft, unbalanced tires. You mentioned that stepping on the brakes seems to complicate the issue. Can you be a little more descriptive about what happens or exactly what the sounds you heard were?

well up to around 35 mph i can hear a scrapeing noise, then at around 35 mph the whole truck starts viberating realy bad.then when i slow back down the viberation stops i then hear the scrapeing noise, and just before comeing to a compleat stop it sounds as though the reare end is going to fall out. this is a 1997 mazda b2300 truck, with 195000 miles.
Does the vibration get worse when you push on the gas pedal? Then go away when you let go? or does it vary with speed. Usually driveline vibrations are worse when you push on the gas.
Or,
Does it get worse when you push on the brake? Can you feel the vibration pulsate the brake pedal? Can you feel your steering wheel pulsate left to right with the vibration? or can you just feel the back of the truck jump around.
It sounds possible to me that you may have broken springs in your brake drum assembly.
That or a bad wheel bearing. Either way it needs to be checked out.
