Funny, that's what I'm going to do with my longbed crewcab. That way I'm not a super rich trust fund baby.

I hear ya. I have several friends who are boaters like myself, who drive the desiel supercab short beds. They drive them for the same reason, just to pull their boats. They don't need the long bed.

Why would 15 inches make that much difference? Does adding 15 inches to your bed transform you into a worthwhile person?

If a truck lacking 15 inches in the bed causes you to think this way of the owner, you must totally dislike me, considering my truck isn't a Power Stroke, long bed or a crew cab.
My wife said I was lacking in the bed too. Thankfully 15" is not an issue...

well for all you boat guys thats my job. I haul boats(and horses) all over the east coast for people, and when you pull into these rich neighborhoods you see so many of these trucks in all the driveways. the people i am talking about are the people who use these trucks to show status and to make themselfes look rugged or something....and i think thart is a waste of a good truck. I have nothing against the trucks i just think its a waste to have such a powerful machine and not use it.

Let the boys buy their trucks. What business is it of yours anyway? Buy the truck and give a family in Kentucky a good living. Or would you rather have that money sent to Japan or Germany?

Don't be a hater (or maybe just jealous). When we are behind the wheel of our trucks we all all the same.

I guess I'll chime in: I own and run a small home improvement company and my new PSD on order (F350 SRW CC LB) will be my third PSD 2003 F250 SC traded for a 2004 F250 CC and now awaiting my new monster. In my business image is a good thing I am the boss and when I pull up to the job site I look like the boss and so does my truck though I tow a 10' dump trailer sometimes I just like a big also in my business its "Better to have and not need than need and not have"

In the OPs original stance - there are people who own these trucks and never/hardly use them for the designed purpose. For that matter a 1/2 ton would probably do just as well.
You can not tell me that there is no stigma/status symbol attatched to the Superdutys.
Consumerism/marketing/commercialism is alive and well in America.
This can be said about all high dollar items.
What we want and what we need makes the difference.
I can make do in my Ranger. .

I get contracted by marina's, boat dealer, and some private owners to deliver to boats to other places usually by trailering them but when they are bigger i will drive them down the coast in the water. I have been as far north as NY and south as FL. And the horse trailers are mostly from a horse farm that i also work at. And on the farm a long bed is a must!

and yes its out of jealousy, i work my *** off for my truck and then i use the heck out of it only to have to put more money into it.

lets see where do i start. I could make do with a 150 because i tow around half my trucks towing capacity. BUT, i like the looks, stance, straight front axle, and the 4.10 gearin in my 250. if u got a problem with me drivin what i want. why dont you just come and KISS MY COUNTRY ***!!!. atleast i aint drivin around no rice burner that supports other countries. just my two cents
