You make a good point though, about the safety factor. Like i said before, you wouldnt replace just a few lines to have another break while you are driving, doing a hack fix like that is even worse.

Your life is just not worth it, do it right!

i replaced the brake line now i am trying to bleed the brakes. i have been putting pb on the bleeder valves to lub. the rear bleeder valves take a 3/8 wrench, the front should be the same right. i can't find a wrench that will fit. the 3/8 to small, i even tried 10mm, 11mm. what am i missing here. anybody?
thanks in advance

If the 3/8 wrench isn't fitting, your bleeder valves are probably dirty and/or rusty. Scrub them with a stiff wire brush and some PB, Rust-Eater or WD40. You can even carefully use a small metal file. In my experience, they either open relatively easy or they break off...

i think they are metric, i do not remember what size at the moment.

a six point socket is the only way to go.

i find them very hard to get into the rear brake drum area and if rusted they sometimes do not work.

i of course have a set of them.

but i use a 1/8" drive and sockets for brake bleeding.
