I know Ford's heart was in the right place with the isolator relay, but it is something of a pain in the neck for load lights.
There are ways around it, of course. One way is to jump the Trailer Tow Battery Charge Relay in your Power Distribution Box. I don't know the connector pinout, though it wouldn't be terribly hard to get it with a voltmeter. The other way would be to modify the trailer's wiring so the power supply for the lights went to the breakaway battery (but don't forget to put a fuse in there). That worked great for me, since mine are front tack and the battery's inside there.
I think the best way to get around it is to add a 12v power supply to the trailer in the form of a deep cycle battery (or a pair). That's what I have planned, but I have to save up the cash first. Between the batteries and the extra LED lights I'm looking at $1000 worth of upgrades.
