Yea wallmart in my area had it for years.I stocked up on cases of it 2.22 qt.I never saw anything larger than qt in mc oil.Saw shell 5-40 snyth 16.88 gal
im not sure on the price? I've been running mobil 1 5-40 for the past two oil changes? I figure that I dont mind spending a few extra bucks on the good stuff since im only paying $3.50 for oil filters
Advance auto had 5qt jugs of Motorcraft 15w40 for $9.98, but they seem to have run through their stock. $11.60/5 qts I'll go back to Mobil Delvac 15w40 gallons just to not have to pour all those stinking quart bottles--LOL.
Seems like all the Motorcraft 15W-40 oil is all the CJ4 oil now. They have apparently stopped selling the CI4+. I know they say it is backwards compatible, but they did change the formula so it would be acceptable for the new 6.4's with the particulate filters. I chose this to be one more reason to switch to a 5W-40 full synthetic (Schaeffer for me - it was between that and Rotella T). I will get my 1st oil analysis back in 2-3 weeks on the Schaeffer.
I have used the Motorcraft 15W-40 oil for almost 150M miles in my old 7.3 (now my sons truck). I thought it was very good oil.
I can tell when it's time for an oil change just by the way it starts with the MC too. It starts to get bitchy when it cranks just about 4800 miles into an oil change. Takes about 2 days after for it to straighten up. I really don't notice a difference with synthetic or dino in fuel mileage or starting during the summer and only a hair difference in winter time. I don't even plan on going to 5w40 this winter since I really don't think it gets that cold here. I'm gonna let the inductive heat flash get a workout.
