Flatbed dilemma (getting headache)

little background;
while looking for a better cab/doors for my F-3 flatbed dually, i bought an F-1 with a great (like new)flatbed, problem is it's 2" narrower and 16" shorter than the beat up one i have, so the axle i made positions the tires @ 1" on past the flatbed on each side.
so decided (kind of) to sell it, well today i temp. installed the oak plants on to take acouple more pics for (Ebay) and now am rethinking selling it.

anyway come up with an idea of how to widen this bed, but keep it look good?

also how do you think it will look with the rear axle well past center of the flatbed when viewed from the side? gonna try to photoshop a picture maybe.

This is an idea but the F-1 stake beds had a partial fender that covered the front of tire. Depending on how much clearance you have you could make one similar but cover the entire wheel and the overhang.

How about attaching a modified trailer fender to each side? You cut and notch the fender to allow only about 2" to stick out of the side of the flatbed.

thanks for the replies,

one of my ideas/plans for this truck is "even thought it's going to be pretty modified, i want it to look as if it could have came from the factory, and is just a budget restoration".

i photochopped alittle to show what it would look like on my F-3, with the 4x4 stance and larger fender openings (it's wheelbase is factory longer than an F-1, and i moved the axle location back another 6" when i did the airbags (this could be redone)

i don't like how it looks

id say sell the flat bed and use what fits, or scrap all the wood from the newer one and section and stretch it, looks way to weird without any bed past the rear tires

I dunno...you could have set the bed back, and fill the space in front between the cab with some type of tool box/storage thing...even a modified sleeper.

I don't think an inch on either side would really be noticable?
