are there aftermarkets that are direct screw-in? I found a site that does it for GM trucks but nothing for Ford. Apparently Ford put their speed sensor in the rear diff and not in the transfer case, so I'm not sure what car I should look at for this.
I'm not very good at machinework, so forget about customizing it. As a matter of fact, all mechanics are new to me.
The end result, hopefully, will be me having a HUD on my windshield for RPM and speed. I'm not sure what I'll have to change on the tach side, as some of these HUDs I'm seeing pull information from the speedo, others from seperate for tach and speed at ECU.

Making a small gear box with a frequency counter that runs off the speedo cable would probably be a way to go, Same for the tach signal except you don't need a gearbox just go off the coil negative wire.
