I've had the Edge Evolution in my 04 5.4 4x4 for about three months and love it! I decided to hook it up to my PC and check on-line for updates but I continue to get the following message:
Unable to locate a valid Hardware Checksum File. This is usually caused by server maintenance or when files on the server are being updated. Please try again later.
This has been going on for three weeks. I sent three emails and left two voice messages to the folks at Edge Products looking for help. They have refused to answer my emails or return my phone calls. I'm quite disappointed in their support - NONE!
I love their product and want to check for updated files. This is one of the reasons I bought the Edge Evolution. Anyone have ideas on 1) How to access the updated files and 2) How to get any kind of response from the Edge tech department? Thanks in advance!
I would uninstall the computer software and then reinstall it and try it to see how it works first. Usually Edge does a pretty good job of customer support.
Tried that already. Also downloaded the most current verision of the "Lightning" software from Edge website. Still no luck. I know the PC and tuner are talking because I can pull 0-60, 1/4 mile etc data from the unit and change the start-up graphic on the unit.
I think their server(s) is crapped out at the moment. I'm getting the same puke this weekend (10/6-7/07), and I have updated with no problems in the past.
It would be nice if they would give you some status of their server so you had a better idea of what was going on.
Hopefully, they'll get it straightened out before too long.
