Gear shift indicator is off one notch

Gear shift indicator is off one notch
I have a 97 F-150 and the gear shift indicator is off to the right one position. So when you place it in park it looks as if its in reverse.
Can I fix this myself? Anyone know what I need to do or how difficult this is?

Gear shift indicator is off one notch
There is a small gear on the bottom of the steering collum that you can turn to adjust the needle position. You can trace the cable along its path and you will find the gear, it is a black cable and runs under the lower part of the steering collum, Hope this helps, Mason
