Ok obviously i have an E-350 and i want to disconnect the EGR valve, but its not in an obvious location as my F-350s. Can anyone let me know where it is?
I havent looked hard, its not my truck its my fathers, but hes getting ticked (been in for rough running smoking like crazy, no power.....they supposedly replaced the EGR valve but its starting to run bad again.....).
I disconnected my F-350s 3 yrs ago and it seems to have helped me a lot.
The only time i notice any engine related "problems" with my F-350 is at low RPMs, specially in reverese going up a slight incline......seems the engine hiccups or surges a little.
The only reason i know is i tore everything off from the cat back and have a pipe coming out right in front of the passenger side tires, so i can hear it pretty well with the windows down.
Otherwise, my E-350 runs like crap unless u floor it constantly, no shifting at 2 grand unless u want problems. This if after they worked on it lol.
Anyways any help would be appreciated thanks
PS: General Maintenance is done all the time: 5000 mile oil changes, either 15-40 or 5-40 at 13.5 qts, fuel filters every 15, 20 at most....etc etc
Thanks i appreciate the pictorial but is this the same as an E-350. This pic looks like my F-350 but obviously, if anyones taken a gander under the hood of an E-350 you cant see much at all.
I have had the air intake completely off in order to replace the secondary/top fuel filter numerous times, but i just never saw a wire bundle/harness that looks familar.
Maybe im just looking wrong, but again anyone with experience on E series with the 6.0 wheres the EGR?
Again, thanks for helping though with thte pic.
BTW, is that an aftermarket filter houseing or something? looks different.......i know the filter is one piece, but my replacement on my F-350 looked the same as the original.
Ok thanks, but just so everyone knows it is not the same.
It is a detuned version of the VT365 ( I know this from the engine label, and the labels red and white, instead of blue and white) 225hp and 440 lb tq if i remember correctly
The oil Filter is on the bottom of the engine, next to the pan
It does not use a donaldson air filter
I could go on with the minor changes but the engines are not exactly the same.
To the best of my knowledge the EGR should be in the same place. There are a limited number of places the EGR can be located as it has to plumb into the intake manifold and the obvious place to do that is right in the middle at the front of the engine. Have another look; it should be there right next to the intake elbow.
