forward or reverse

<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top width="100%">I am looking to upgrade to 4.10s from 3.55's in my 92 f150, i dont know if the front ring gear is forward or reverse cut . any body with any pointers?

are some standard and others reverse, this is where im getting lost, in my books i show it as an option but the book isnt entirely clear

it changed back in the early 70s on the D44 front ends for ford. The rest use standard rotation gears in the fronts but ford went to the high pinion setup requiring reverse cut gears. You can tell pretty easily, in your case it's real easy cause all the TtB type axles used the reverse high pinion center sections. But look at the pinion itself it if goes into teh case above the center line it's a high pinion and uses the reverse cut gears.
