Ok, up front: I just had my truck in the shop a week or two ago and they replaced the TPS and someting with the torque converter (clutch maybe).

1. Before it went in and after, if the fuel is below 1/4 tank the engine doesnt like to idle sometimes not always. The ENGINE runs fine (see below for other issues) at anything above idle speed. Fill the tank and runs fine until it hits 1/4 tank. I have tried many variables ie letting it idle cold and hot at full tank and nothing, it runs fine. I can't figure it out...

Any ideas on this?

2. Another issue I have which may or may no be related....when above approx. 40 mph the engine flutters between about 200-500 rpms as you go up a hill or anytime after that untill you give it a lot of throttle or brake normally. For example when coming home today with a warm engine I was steadily going 45 mph @ approx 1500rpm. I hit a slight incline and then the engine went to 1900rpm for about 2 seconds and then went back to 1500 for two secands and repeated this until I gave it alot of throttle or hit the brakes...???

3. It also shifts rather firm sometimes....sometimes it shifts hard under a lot of throttle and sometimes it doesn't. Other times it shifts hard while accelerating at a snails pace....

I can't seem to figure it out...

If I have to I will take it back to the tranny shop to let them have more of my money!!! I dont want to waste anymore on this lemon if I dont have to!!!!

Help please...I have posted on this before but nothing seemed to help thus far...

 

a shot in the dark, maybe fuel pressure. Pump might be going bad. what are you driving?
