I am planning to completely rebuild my 360 into a 390 with many upgrades I've heard about on this site. I hear a lot about the obvious benefits of changing out points for electronic ignition. I have a 1975 F-250 Camper Special which has stock electronic ignition. Is there any reason I should upgrade to another ignition system. I was planning to keep what I have.
Horsetruck, if you already have the duraspark you're in good shape. I have done lots of changing around on ignitions, but only because my 71s both had points to start with. The only thing you might want to consider is a nicer coil, but that is just my personal thing 'cause I like big plug gaps- .080 I have two trucks that have a bigger coil on them and a special trigger box but both of them are using the stock duraspark dizzy.
